C. Otto Gehrckens is built on tradition …
• Founded in 1867 in Pinneberg as the leather factory G. Metzger & Son
• In 1919 the leather manufacturing company C. Otto Gehrckens took over
and continued to do business under this name
• From 1955 change over from leather manufacturing to rubber manufacturing,
since then fan belts and elastic washers have been produced
• The Metzger family have been running the company for five generations
• In 2007 140th anniversary
… and progessive
• 1995 certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001
• 1997 creation of our own sales force
• 1998 certification according to DIN EN ISO 14001
• 1998 sold the power plant division of the business in order to upgrade
our core business; o-ring washers.
• 2001 creation of an application technology division
• 2002 relocation of sales and distribution, warehouse and administration
into new logistic centre with state of the art storage facilities
• 2008 Completition of the new manufacture and relocation of the production
